]]> Hello,
My husband John and I returned from an unforgettable September trip to England. From the moment we first contacted Barry, until the end of the trip, the experience was one we will never forget. During the initial planning phase, involving numerous phone calls and emails, all of our questions were promptly answered, and our primary interests were factored into our itinerary. We chose pub stays, and the accommodations chosen were perfect. Just our cup of tea!!

After all, who has stayed in a pub built in 1402?! Our love of old churches,castles, historical sites, beautiful gardens, stone buildings and craggy cliffs was wonderfully fulfilled.

It was definitely ‘our’ trip. A wonderful trip booklet was provided, and all airport pickups,drop offs, reservations, flights, and schedules went off without a hitch. Such a relaxing, pressure-free way to travel. The weather was also a gift. I think we only needed our umbrella once during the whole time!
We had the best driver/guides ever!

Tanya took care of us in Kent.
We had a wonderful time together, enjoyed each other’s company, and learned so many interesting details about history from her. We hiked the white cliffs of Dover, climbed castle steps, explored National Trust estates together, and relaxed over lunch, one treat after another! She is a gem!

On the next stage of our trip, Louise took us under her wing, and introduced us to the wonders of Cornwall. So friendly and outgoing. We bonded immediately. She took us to all of her favourite natural places, off the beaten track, which is what we love. We trekked one gorgeous craggy coastline and cliff after another together. We were in awe. Wonderful seafood feasts together. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our time with Louise.

Will was our companion through Oxford and the Cotswolds. He arranged an extra unexpected tour of Oxford University while we were there.
We never stopped learning and enjoying and being amazed for the whole trip. We feel that we formed personal relationships with our driver/guides, and are privileged to have spent time with them. They shared their home turf with us, and gave us a travel experience that we will treasure always.

]]> We just returned from an exceptional week in the Channel Islands, organized by Barry and Guernsey guide, Amanda. We pretty much left it all up to them to plan everything, and we were delighted in the hotels chosen, as well as the day tours organized. It was enough to get a good picture of the four islands visited, and see that there is enough left to see to entice a return visit. Everything was professionally handled and communication was excellent. We received a spiral bound guide with all the trip details and contact numbers. Would have no hesitation considering Prepco for future packages to different destinations.

]]> We were a party of three. Mom and 2 adult daughters. I was born in Cornwall and have many happy memories from my childhood that I wanted to share with my girls. The idea of a small group tour that could be tailored to suit our needs was very appealing. I found an ad for Prepco Travel in an English magazine and decided to take a chance on them. I am so glad I did! Barry was a pleasure to work with. Always prompt responses to my many questions and requests.

In brief:

The taxis were right on time ✔️ always wonderful to have a great start.
The weather was on our side ✔️ out of our control but still a great perk for any travel
The hotel was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful ✔️
The daily excursions were well planned, interesting and very enjoyable ✔️
Our tour guide, Louise, was lovely. Friendly, knowledgable, flexible and so much fun ✔️

]]> As a retired single traveler I used to longingly review package tours of the British Isles offered by various travel companies, looking for trips that would take me to places I longed to visit — gardens of southern England, especially by the sea, along with Stonehenge, St. Michael’s Mount — maybe Jane Austen’s Bath, and what about the Cotswolds?

And I would find that although a trip package might include one or two of those sites, it was invariably not the focus, but was tucked into an itinerary built around cities and locales in England that I had visited and loved on prior trips.

I would sit and study maps and websites and try to think of how to put a trip together, although I wasn’t sure where to start — focus on lodging or travel reservations first? Or maybe start with timed tickets for admission to ancient Roman sites in Bath, and build from there? But then I found Prepco and Barry Devo.

With emails and phone conversations about ideas and plans, he worked out a two-week “trip of a lifetime” that took me to my primary interest, gardens and landscapes of Cornwall, with seaside lodging and salt air. Flying me into and out of London, with travel by train and car service, he built a custom itinerary that took me to an inn in the Cotswolds west of the city, then south to Bath, Stonehenge, and Kent. He understood the transportation options, distances and travel time required and put it together like a beautifully crafted puzzle, without the time pressure I’ve encountered on packaged bus trips.

I came home relaxed and renewed, without the package tour exhaustion, and most importantly, with memories of wonderful landscapes and gardens, historic sites and salt air, and cuckoo song near ancient churches. If you have questions about this trip, ask Barry to have me phone you.

After initial contact with Barry at Prepco he sent some sample itinerary ideas. We reviewed it and also did a little research on our own. The next step was a call to him, to discuss our destination goals. His itinerary met all of them and the additional suggestions he had made the experience even better. Among these were a visit to the Isles of Scilly and the services of a wonderful guide in Cornwall. We did and saw so much more than we could have on our own. A truly memorable trip for all the right reasons!

]]> This is a long overdue thank you for an extraordinarily well planned trip. We had such a good time, and the places and venues visited were wonderful. Our hotel on the Severn River in Worcester was superb. We really enjoyed our stay.
One outstanding feature of the trip was not a garden or castle, but was the little booklet of day to day activities and flight information. What a lifesaver that was for us!!!! That was a brilliant stroke of genius on your part—it’s obvious that you have dealt with travelers before.
We would definitely recommend your services, and please keep us in the loop with your future excursions.
Oh, one last point to make to you. We simply adore the Isle of Jersey, it was a true highlight of the trip and we are envious of those who get to live there.

Getting me pinned down on timelines and destinations was probably the hardest part, but once that happened Barry put together a dream trip to many different destinations in England. Airfares, drivers, fabulous hotels, trains, ferries, and cool stops along the way. My husband and I enjoyed this escorted journey and are already thinking about our next trip.
